Greater Whitsunday Housing Project- Round Table event

The Greater Whitsunday Housing Project kicked off with its first deliverable being a Housing Roundtable that took place on 6 December 2022.

The intention of the Roundtable was to understand the housing issues in the region better and develop the strategic themes to be addressed at a Summit in 2023.

The strategic themes that came through strongly include:

  1. Availability

  2. Diversity and choice

  3. Affordability

  4. Consumer need

  5. Roles and responsibilities (collaboration and coordination)

Channel7 News report on the Housing Roundtable event.

The intention of the Summit is to develop pragmatic solutions for the region’s housing issues, working collaboratively to achieve greater impact together. It will bring a broad range of stakeholders together to identify and solve the issues systemically.

With all components of the supply chain working together we believe we can develop creative solutions that address issues across the commercial, affordable and social housing sectors.

GWC and RDA GW are partnering to drive this Housing Project forward. We are also pleased to be able to acknowledge Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal as a new partner contributing to the cost of the Project.
