Business Continuity – A Peer to Peer Approach

This approach is focused on working with groups to build awareness and encourage uptake of user-led business continuity plans.

The process followed is to create/discuss:

  • Baseline BCP Scan of the Area

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Recruitment

  • Talk individually with each participant about the program and how they see it developing.

  • Develop Business Continuity Plans


Funders and supporters:

  • Queensland Government - Flexible Funding Grants Program

  • Mackay Regional Council

  • Isaac Regional Council

  • QFES

  • Locally Managed NFP in region

Project Benefits:

  • Community organisations have better understanding of roles in times of disaster and disruptions.

  • Be in a position to care for the most vulnerable people in the communities in times of need understanding their role in times of recovery.

  • Eight Not for Profit organisations have been supported to develop & review Business Continuity Plans

Impact

  • Community based organisations have more awareness and uptake of user-led Business Continuity plans.

  • Strengthened communities that are better prepared for disasters, more resilient and working more closely together.
